Project Summary

Members of a local disability rights group could not use or withdraw cash from Automatic Teller Machines. They asked the Legal Clinic to devise a project to review the governing laws, audit and evaluate ATMs placed in businesses, pedestrian malls and shopping centers for compliance with the ADA, encourage or require owners or lessees to replace or update the machines and develop a brochure that children and adults could use. The brochure was used during an ADA Anniversary Celebration in conjunction with a local bank and was distributed regionally to disability education and advocacy groups.
